Bangkok Chameleon in a Shifting World
This lecture will explore Bangkok as a constantly changing city where spontaneous architectural arrangements can be seen on everyday streets. These structures not only provide localized responses but also reflect the “native wisdom” of local lifestyles. By examining these phenomena, which appear in various forms across other Asian cities, the lecture will illustrate how Bangkok and Thailand’s architecture can serve as a prototypical response mechanism for urban adaptation.
