Some Observations on the Indeterminate Nature of Thai Tectonic Culture

In search for a unique characteristic of Thai architecture, common focuses would be on the forms, proportions, scale, colors and etc. in traditional buildings. The study, on the other hand, proposes an alternative aspect to investigate Thai architecture by looking at a common signifi cant feature of built environments in Thailand which is an indeterminate nature of tectonic. The selected samples for the investigation
are both traditional and contemporary buildings and space without any involvements of an architect or a designer, with an assumption that the innate essence of the built environment would be candidly portrayed.
